Editing the Event Page

Event Template

When the Event Page editor opens, it will already have the event details filled in and a template selected. The template can be changed be clicking the show theme button and choosing any of the templates that appear in the selection bar.

Selecting a new template will erase any changes made to the event page, so selecting or creating a preferred template before adding additional content to the page is recommended.

View Settings

In addition to a standard set of editing tools such as spell check, font size and selection, formatting, and other basic tools, the editor contains three view modes: Normal, HTML, Preview.

Respectively, these modes allow you to view your event with additional formatting guide marks, as HTML code, and as a static preview of exactly how it will appear once published. Each mode is selectable at the bottom of the editor window at any time.

Preview mode can also be activated and exited via the button in the upper right hand of the editor.

If you already have an event or page you like or want to use as a template, you can also choose just to copy and paste it into the editor, and the editor will recreate the pasted material, exactly preserving the original format.

Table Tool

If you click on the Table Tool Button you can create a table of any size and cell arrangement, deciding as you create the table how its cells will be arranged.

You can also edit any existing table by right clicking on it and selecting Table from the drop down menu.

Adding Links to the Event Homepage

Adding trackable links lets you add content to any event and allows you to get feedback on the links you use.

Insert Trackable Web Links

Insert Trackable Web Links creates a link to a URL in your event that opens in a new window location.

These links are saved and tracked, and can be found under the Quick Web Link folder in the Link Library for later use.

Insert Trackable Links

The insert trackable links tool, accessed by the icon of the pushpin and paper gives you access to Attachment, HTML, and URL links, as well as previously created quick links.

New Attachment

The attachment button allows you to take any file on your local network, up to four megabytes in size, and upload it to Marketingship's online storage space for later use. Any sort of file can be uploaded, and tracked.

The HTML button lets you copy and paste entire web pages and save them onto the Marketingship online storage space. You can write a new page, copy a page's code, or simply copy and paste a page and it will be pasted without formatting loss.

The new URL tool lets you link to anywhere with a valid URL address. The 'go' button opens a preview of your link to ensure it works properly.

All links inserted by the Insert links tool are saved to the Media Base and can be reused for as long as they are stored with Marketingship.

Adding Existing Links to the Library

If you paste in web content already containing a link, you can add those links to the Link Library and make them trackable links by right clicking the link in the editor and selecting the Link option in the drop down menu. On the page that appears, click the Add to Link Library button

and that link will be added to the Library under the Quick Web Link folder.

Adding Pictures and Videos

Adding pictures and videos to your event is done by selecting the Insert as Inline Image or Video option in the Insert Link tool. The option is only available if the file is a type that can be embedded. Due to being auto loaded along with event, inline images and videos are not tracked with other links.

Adding Links to Text or Pictures

Adding a link to text or image is an excellent way to add unobtrusive links into the body of an event. By selecting a piece of text or picture in the editor and clicking the Insert Trackable Links button, the text or image selected will appear in the upper left hand of the Link window, and will remain visible in the body of the event as a clickable link to the specified file or location.
